Don't excuse yourself by saying,
"Look we didn't know."
For God understands all hearts, and He sees you.
He who guards your soul knows you knew.
He will repay all people as their actions deserve.
Proverbs 24:12

One week, 7 days!

Last month, I wrote and shared what some friends had concocted in the hopes of raising money to help us bring home our sweet little boy and to raise awareness for the other 162,999,999 children in need of someone being their voice.  To show that someone cares. To choose them to be that missing piece that fits perfectly into the puzzle God has made titled family.  Well, that day is fast approaching where we will join with at least a hundred other people across the world willing to Give Up Our Voices for the day.

One day.

24 hours.

1440 minutes.

86,400 seconds.

They all seem like insignificant numbers.  I mean the bigger they get, the less impact they seem to have on us as a society.  But each one alone is significant.  Each number is worth something.  When you give that number a value like a face. A name. It changes everything.  It makes things real. It makes it personal.  For me it is personal.  It has been for a very long time.  For me they all have names.  Anna.  Sophia.  David. Jonathan. Emma. Gwendolyn. Josiah. Elaina. Isaiah. Each one of these children is real. Some in forever families.  Others not yet. Others probably never will be.  But they are REAL.  Each one of these kids is included in the number 163,000,000.  Each one has a purpose and a longing to be with a family.  To be loved on.  To be cared for.  To be the one that becomes all that he or she can be.  Because someone. Anyone. YOU. chose to come and use your voice to bring awareness to them and their cause.

Giving Up Your Voice for one day is nothing compared to living in silence for days, weeks, months, years.  You see, the only way to make a difference is by starting with one.  One minute. That turns to two. Three. Four. Before you know it, it's been 60 minutes. That 60 then turns into a 120.  Before you know it, you have shared why you were doing this with at least one person.  That person has heard the silence that these kids live in daily.  Some may scoff at what your doing wondering what difference it makes.  You may wonder the same thing.  The truth is you may not see the difference right away.  It may take several events like this one to make the biggest impact.  But it still had to start with ONE DAY.  January 19th is that day.  January 19th is the day that many of us will band together to make a difference in the life of one child.  Whether you are raising money for our David or raising awareness for the other children, it's starts with One.  You choosing to step outside of your comfort zone to do something amazing in the life of an orphan.  If you can't join us on January 19th, please choose another day and tell us about it.  We want to hear how this impacted you and those whom you came into contact with.

If you haven't joined a team yet, find us on Facebook where you will find all of the info you need.

These are the eyes of my non verbal boy, David.  The ONE I'm Giving Up My Voice for on January 19th.  Will you join me?

STWTHE,
Laurie
