Don't excuse yourself by saying,
"Look we didn't know."
For God understands all hearts, and He sees you.
He who guards your soul knows you knew.
He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

Giving Up Your Voice

I have some of the most amazing friends.  Their hearts are bigger than their bodies can hold.  They are passionate.  Loving. Resourceful. Imaginative. They make me laugh when I need to laugh.  They hold me accountable to promises made. They send me an encouraging word when life seems to be to much.  They challenge me to go beyond myself and do more for the least of these.  These amazing women are like no other.  I'm sure you all have friends like that.  If not, go find some!  :) they are the most amazing friends you will ever have.

We announced we were adopting several months ago.  It's been slow moving at times.  Then we were headed towards warp speed.  Recently we had another set back. Its ok, we will make it through.  Unbeknownst to us, this group of friends decided to do something as an encouragement for us.  They started planning and conspiring and came up with an amazing idea. The cool thing is, it won't be just for us.  It will be an event we hope to hold each year to bring awareness and help orphans around the world.

So what is it?

Welcome to this Year's Giving Up Your Voice Event!

an adoption fundraiser for baby D a nonverbal precious 4 year old that spends everyday of his life in an orphanage without a voice. We are fund-raising to not only give him a home but a family that will forever speak for him. Want to join our team in silent unity? To participate, you must promise to stay silent on the day of the event, if you can't do it on the event date you can pick any date in January. You plan ahead and get sponsors to donate in honor of your effort. You can request a sponsor recruitment form from us. On the day of silence you will have a card to pass out saying, "Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Giving Up Your Voice Event, my deliberate silence echoes the silence, that orphans live in daily. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Giving a voice to those who feel like nobody hears them. Think about the voices you are not hearing today. What are you going to do to end the silence?"
Want to join us and give up your voice for a day for those who have no voice? Please click on the link and fill out the form. We need your mailing address to send you an event packet that includes an arm band to wear on the day of the event, information cards, a flier, and sponsor sheets. Thanks, guys. This is exciting!

Isn't this an amazing idea?!  I love it!  Bringing awareness to the 163 million orphans around the world!

Find Giving up your Voice on facebook, like the page and keep up with the goings on there.  :)
