Don't excuse yourself by saying,
"Look we didn't know."
For God understands all hearts, and He sees you.
He who guards your soul knows you knew.
He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

The Holy City

Today, we decided to take sometime as a family and go out hiking in our local area.  We drove out in the direction of our destination, we saw some of the biggest bison we'd ever seen.  The longhorn cattle weren't so big.  Sorry, but this Texas girl has seen much bigger.  As we went to the Holy City of the Wichitas, we saw a ton of prairie dogs.  We stopped by the side of the road to get a closer look and had one look up and we swore he was going to save at us.  He kept inching his way towards us as if looking to hitch a ride.

It was a little hotter than we would have liked and the bugs are HUGE.  It seems the HUGE bees like my scent as they kept flying around me as well as trying to land on me but it was a good time none the less.  We spent time imagining what it was like to walk up the mountain and receiving the ten commandments as Moses did, then walking in Jesus' footsteps.  Being tempted. Visiting Mary's and Martha's home.  Lazarus's grave. Preaching from the boat. Praying in the garden.  Sitting in Herod's courts, as well as Pilate's.  Then going to Calvary.  Time of remembrance and a time of savoring the remembrance of Jesus did for us.

As we were driving home, we took a different route.  Along the way we saw some beautiful lake areas and some signs I wish I had been able to take some pictures.  One was a sign to downtown for one of the small towns we passed through.  As we looked down the road to downtown, it ended up having one building with lots of parking.  We had a giggle.  A little further down the road going home, we saw a sign that said,"Indian tacos for sale."  Never  heard of Indian tacos before and wish we would have stopped to learn what exactly an Indian taco was.  Maybe next time.  Being from the city, our family is having fun being exposed to small town life.  It is strange to us with its wildlife and HUGE bugs all around us and the fact that I have allergies here like I've never known!  Life is good.  God has brought us here for a reason.  Maybe it's just so we can bring our boy home.  Maybe it's to show mercy and grace to the neighbors who are trying to cause trouble already.  There are a ton of  maybes and what ifs.  We won't see it until it's all over.  I'm just praying God will fix a few issues
before they get out of hand.  Trusting Him in all things.

Please pray for a family in our church.  Their 12 year old daughter was hit by a car last night while bringing in the trash can from the highway.  She has a compressed lung, 8 stitches in her head, femur was snapped, pelvic bone and shoulder fractures, no skin on her elbows.  Police are not sure how's she's still alive.  All God's grace.  If God brings them to mind, please pray.  I can't imagine seeing my teddy bear in that position.  She's 12 as well and just thinking about it makes me cry.

God bless y'all and your labor day weekend.  May the God of glory shower you with his love, embrace you in his loving arms.

BTW, we only have three Rebekah Blocher necklaces left.  HURRY if you plan on buying one.  They really are beautiful and your purchase helps to unorphan our sweet little man!

STWTHE,
Laurie
